A few photographs by Stanley Wolukau-Wanambwa. For those who don’t know it, Stanley is the guy behind The Great Leap Sideways, a recent stand-out in terms of photography-related sites that almost reads like an online magazine. It posts original content, including in depth interviews, essays and portfolios by a wide range of photographers, as well as combining photography with either poetry or fiction. Fellow Montreal photographer, Guillaume Simoneau, was kind enough to show me his copy of Richard Mosse’s (sold-out collector’s edition of) first monograph, Infra. To say that I was blown might be one way of putting it. Seeing it all printed and sequenced is a real pleasure. The book is more than beautiful and the photographs…my goodness! The whole project is a Complete Work of Art, in the most profound sense.
