I photographed canadian tennis star, and junior world champion, Filip Peliwo for Montecristo Magazine. Here he is looking dapper on the cover.
This was such a fun shoot, even if it was the complete opposite of what I had had in mind. I had been visualizing a sunny day, warm May weather, gorgeous sunlight…what I got was rain, hail, almost freezing temperatures and the most insane wind gusts. And poor Filip was recovering from a cold, so going outside was not high on anyone’s priority list. However, Filip was super enthusiastic, open and up for anything. Not to mention very generous with his time. Time makes such a difference when it comes to portraiture, I wish there was more of it to go around. Because in the end, the results speak for themselves, and everyone wins.
Thanks a bunch to the people at Montecristo and to Filip! Kick some serious ass out there on the courts dude!
